Duke Asks Applicants An Unusual Question

Duke University reportedly is the only university to ask applicants whether they got help on their application essay. The question is aimed at making it easier for administrators to evaluate the essays as more and more applicants seek professional writing assistance. Some educators believe the responses are impossible to evaluate because some students may not answer the question truthfully.
