Hispanic activist appointed to California Board of Education

Luis J. Rodriguez, president-elect of the California La Raza Lawyers Association, has been appointed to the state Board of Education by Gov. Gray Davis. Rodriguez's appointment is a victory for the Democratic Latino Caucus, which has complained that Hispanics are underepresented on the board.
