The ennui of meetings

Executives tend to have an inflated view of the power of a meeting, but the formal sit-down isn't very good for making decisions, says Nigel Nicholson, professor of organizational behavior at the London Business School. Still, he says, "We need meetings." They foster teamwork, and they're not bad for disseminating information.
