Traditional breast-feeding schedule may be better for baby

A traditional breast-feeding schedule supports early infant weight gain and continued breast-feeding better than a "baby-led" routine that allows infants to feed for an unlimited time on just one breast, a British study says. The researchers found infants were more likely to be exclusively breast-fed for up to 12 weeks with the traditional method of using both breasts at each feeding for no more than 10 minutes per breast.
