Advocates push for bill to include pets in court-imposed restrictions

Activists are calling for the passage of a bill introduced in Massachusetts that would protect pets against animal abusers, who, according to a study, were found to be five times more inclined to commit an offense against a person. Under the bill, courts would be allowed to add pets to restraining orders issued in domestic-violence cases.
