Special-education students in Pennsylvania to take new tests

Pennsylvania is introducing new state tests for students in special education aimed at providing a better measurement of students' knowledge. The Pennsylvania System of School Assessment-Modified -- which tests grade-level skills in a simplified format -- is available statewide for assessing students' proficiency in math, and some districts are also trying it out to assess reading and science for their special-needs students.
