American Airlines ramps up recycling efforts

American Airlines is working to improve its recycling with everything from magazines, carpet, blankets and windows seen as targets for its program. Flight attendant Lisa Lonvick is coordinating the carrier's on-board recycling efforts. "It's a unique opportunity to look at an airplane in a new way," Lonvick said. For example, American Airlines' plastic windows are melted down and turned into toys.
