AVMA broker to clarify compensation advice for relief veterinarians

The insurance broker for AVMA's Professional Liability Insurance Trust intends to offer more clarity on advice issued in 2009, which stated that relief veterinarians needed workers' compensation insurance. This advice caused some confusion, given the independent contractor status of most such veterinarians. The clarification will made in an article to be published this month in the upcoming issue of AVMA Business Insurance Update.
