House GOP seeks to delay deadlines for derivatives rules

House Republicans introduced a bill to extend deadlines for regulators to write rules governing the derivatives market. The legislation would give the Commodity Futures Trading Commission and the Securities and Exchange Commission about 18 more months to write the rules. "The CFTC has placed speed over deliberation," said Rep. Michael Conaway, R-Texas.
