Intelligence chief warns of power grid vulnerabilities

Gen. Keith Alexander, head of the National Security Agency, emphasized in a speech the importance of forging a partnership between utilities and the government to ensure the protection of the power grid. He pointed to a massive 2003 blackout that affected much of the eastern United States as one example of the devastation an attack on the electrical grid would cause, calling a partnership between energy utilities and the government "key for the future."
