Maine wellness program for state workers shows early success

Maine state workers who participated in the first year of the taxpayer-funded ME First Project lost an average of 26 pounds by using fitness trainers, nutritionists and wellness coaches from MaineGeneral Medical Center. A review of the program is looking at worker compensation claims and health care cost-savings for obesity-related diseases.
