Nasdaq-ICE bid for NYSE Euronext attracts antitrust scrutiny

The Justice Department's 2010 antitrust lawsuit against Dean Foods is being seen as a precedent for the way regulators might approach Nasdaq OMX Group and IntercontinentalExchange's unsolicited bid for NYSE Euronext, sources said. The lawsuit said Dean's acquisition harmed competition. Although the cases have key differences, legal experts said the lawsuit likely would serve as a model for how the Obama administration would approach the Nasdaq-ICE bid.
