Ready-to-drink tea sales up 13.1% at convenience stores

Sales of ready-to-drink tea at convenience stores increased 13.1% last year compared with 2009, making it the fastest-growing beverage category. It is on track to expand faster this year, with the 52 weeks that ended Feb. 19 showing a 13.4% increase in dollar sales. "Even for January and February, it's up close to 20% on some items," said executive with Casey's General Stores.
