Sequencing method helps find gene mutations linked to melanoma

U.S. researchers reported in the journal Nature Genetics that performing the whole-exome sequencing technique helped them identify several "hot-spot" gene mutations, including those in the gene TRRAP, that increase the risk of melanoma. They said the finding could help improve the diagnosis and treatment of the disease.
