What small companies can teach others about fairness

Smaller companies often do a better job of fostering fairness in the workplace, doing things such as providing frequent feedback and ensuring that processes -- such as compensation practices -- are transparent, writes Marcus Erb of the Great Place to Work Institute. Smaller employers understand that frequent communication can address any concerns and help "everyone to focus on more rewarding and productive responsibilities," Erb writes.
