2 Japanese firms to invest in Sempra's new $6B La. gas terminal

Japanese firms Mitsubishi Corp. and Mitsui & Co., have agreed to invest in Sempra Energy's construction of a $6 billion natural gas terminal in Louisiana in exchange for each company getting a third of the terminal's expected daily output of 1.7 billion cubic feet of gas. The final value of the two firms' investments has yet to be determined, but Sempra will retain 50% ownership of the project. Sempra is still awaiting approval from the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission to build the new terminal at its existing plant in Hackberry, La.
