Communal tables don't cut it for some fine-dining fans

A growing number of New York City's fine-dining restaurants have created communal tables, to the dismay of some patrons who made reservations expecting a more intimate upscale dining experience. "It’s part of the relentless informalization of dining, which is a wonderful and a terrible thing," says restaurant critic Steve Cuozzo.
