Duncan: Teacher recruitment for rural schools is a priority

Schools in rural communities face many challenges, including poverty, teacher recruitment and a lack of Internet access, says Education Secretary Arne Duncan. In remarks Tuesday at the second Summit on the Role of Education in Economic Development in Rural America, Duncan said the administration was focused on incentives to recruit teachers for rural areas and other hard-to-staff schools, as well as expanding access to technology and college.
