Ill. district approves limited expansion of iPad trial

In an Illinois district, officials plan to expand the use of iPads to 735 in the next school year -- up from 165 district-owned devices in use today. As part of the trial program, the devices can be integrated into the curriculum in 15 ways -- selected by a committee. Students can use their own devices, purchase discounted iPads or use district-owned devices.
