March figures show improved occupancy for Orlando, Fla., hotels

Occupancy rates in Orlando, Fla., hotels rose from 80.8% in March 2011 to 82.7% this year. Average daily rates climbed 4%, to $107.99, over a year earlier, data released by STR showed. First-quarter performance showed similar improvements with a 74.5% occupancy that surpassed last year's results as well as state and national averages.
