Private sector boosting construction employment, AGC says

In February, construction employment increased year-over-year or stayed the same in 218 metropolitan areas, and decreased in 119, according to federal data released by the Associated General Contractors of America. The increases in construction employment were due in large part to private-sector demand, AGC officials noted. "As great as it is to see construction jobs being added in so many parts of the country, construction employment remains well below peak levels in virtually every metro area," said Stephen E. Sandherr, AGC's chief executive officer.
