Texas hospitals join program to help train NICU volunteers

MCH Odessa's Center for Women and Infants and the Odessa Regional Medical Center in Texas have joined a program by the nonprofit SHARE to teach volunteers how to help parents of NICU babies deal with the stress of having a critically ill child. NICU Transport Coordinator Malynda Nowell of MCH said a NICU is "really scary for a parent," and a support system where people can share experiences can help.
