Tumblr puts paid ads on Radar and knocks social-net units

Tumblr announced the first paid ad units in the company's five-year history. The microblog will offer the Radar section on the dashboard that typically features curated photos. Tumblr founder and CEO David Karp criticized Google and Facebook, calling the websites' ad units "devoid of creativity."
