Cocktail parties more useful than job fairs for some firms

More employers are forgoing traditional job fairs in favor of cocktail parties, J. Maureen Henderson writes. Shopify, for instance, says it hired 16 of the 100 people it invited to a recruiting event. "We posted a party invitation and encouraged candidates to submit their resume as a sort of RSVP," said Doug Tetzner, head of talent acquisition at Shopify.
