Concrete plays key role in wind power, jobs in Canada

The durability and resilience of concrete is one of the reasons why it is the "material of choice" for the foundations of NextEra Energy's wind towers, according to this article. In Canada, NextEra has placed more than 483,000 cubic yards of concrete for its projects in Ontario alone. "While people often think of the jobs associated with building the towers and manufacturing the turbines, there are a number of other industrial sectors that also benefit, the concrete and aggregate industries chief among them," said Al Wiley, vice president for development for NextEra Energy Canada.
