A special committee has been set up by Sprint Nextel to consider DISH Network's $25.5 billion bid for the company, which DISH claims makes the most sense in terms of national security. At the same time, SoftBank has removed Barclays as the financing bank for the $20.1 billion deal it signed to acquire Sprint last October. Barclays is now advising DISH on its bid, sources say. DISH is asking U.S. regulators to suspend its review of SoftBank's offer while its bid is considered.
