Key senators may be open to military pay cuts

The highest-ranking Democrat on the Senate Armed Services Committee's personnel panel, along with the highest-ranking Republican, hinted Wednesday at a willingness to consider proposals to reduce military benefits. Sen. Kirsten Gillibrand, D-N.Y., acknowledged that budget constraints would force the Pentagon to make "difficult choices," while Sen. Lindsey Graham, R-S.C., said he would be willing to consider Tricare fee increases.
