NRCA gives flexibility to employees with flooded homes in Ill.

Heavy rains in Illinois created a mess in the Chicago area on Thursday, flooding basements and keeping many workers at home. But, many workers chose to show up at the National Roofing Contractors Association in Rosemont, Ill., even though the group offered employees flexibility in their schedules so they could clean. Only 18 of 47 employees were absent for either the whole day or part of it. "It’s very interesting; we really, really very seldom have someone who takes advantage of this situation," said Mark Graham, director of technical services at the organization.
