Conn. lawmakers reject minimum wage penalty bill

The finance committee of the Connecticut legislature rejected a bill that would have penalized large companies for each hour worked by employees paid less than 130% of the minimum wage. The bill, which was passed by the labor committee, would have cost large companies in the state more than $100 million if wages were not increased next year.
