NYC mayor pushes reforms for "Build it Back" program

New York City Mayor Bill de Blasio has announced he intends to implement reforms in the highly-criticized Sandy reconstruction program called "Build it Back." The editorial board at the New York Times writes, "[o]f the $1.45 billion in federal funds that has been allocated for post-Sandy rebuilding, only $380 million has been spent and nine construction projects begun." The mayor says that by summer's end 500 reimbursement checks to homeowners will be released and reconstruction of at least 500 homes will start.
