Survey: British Teachers Favor Dropping Exams For Young Students

A survey finds that 80% of teachers queried favor abolishing national tests for 7-year-olds. And more than five in 10 teachers support scrapping the exams for 11-year-olds. Many educators see the tests as too stressful for young students. The government's goal is to have 85% of 11-year-olds score at the minimum proficiency level by 2004.
