Recording industry settlement generates CD windfall

Thanks to a class action suit filed by 40 states' attorneys general against the major record companies and distributors, public libraries and schools soon will receive $76 million in free CDs. The defendants in the price-fixing case admitted no guilt but agreed to the payoff to end litigation.
