States join forces to increase buying power for Medicaid drugs

Six states are teaming up in the first and only multi-state Medicaid pooling program to increase their buying power on prescription drugs. The states -- Hawaii, Michigan, Vermont, New Hampshire, Alaska and Nevada -- expect to negotiate greater discounts from pharmaceutical manufacturers for state Medicaid programs.
