In a more innocent time, hip-hop artists like Run-DMC rapped about their adidas sneakers out of love, not because they expected a paycheck. Now, artists like Busta Rhymes, Nelly, Outkast and Jay-Z rap about brand name products, only to receive endorsement deals when their songs hit the charts.
