Study provides comprehensive snapshot of graduation data

A new Manhattan Institute for Policy Research study of the Class of 2003 breaks down high-school graduation rates in various ways, including by race and gender, by state and by the 100 largest school districts in the country. Among the nationwide findings: 72% of girls graduated that year, compared with 65% of boys, while black and Hispanic girls had higher graduation rates nine to ten percentage points higher than those of their male counterparts.
