Seasonal flu vaccine development aids search for bird flu shot

The annual development of a vaccine for seasonal flu could lead to an effective shot against the H5N1 avian flu strain. An NIH scientist says creation of a bird flu vaccine depends on knowing how to make the seasonal vaccines, and that researchers have products at all levels of development to deal with both seasonal and avian flu strains.
