Covington, Ky., may be first in U.S. to finish levee repairs

Covington, Ky., may become the first city in the country to receive certification from the Army Corps of Engineers for repairing its levees. The northern Kentucky city fixed about three miles of levees to comply with new regulations after Hurricane Katrina. Covington has more than a mile of concrete and two miles of earthen levees that protect land along the riverfront and downtown.
