EPA reconsiders policy on dry cleaning chemical

The EPA is revisiting the issue of the dry cleaning chemical perchloroethylene, asking a federal appeals court to postpone a hearing on the issue while it reconsiders its policy. The legal challenge involves environmental groups that say a 2006 decision from the Bush administration ordering dry cleaners to stop using the chemical by 2020 doesn't go far enough because it doesn't apply to cleaners in nonresidential buildings.
