FCC allots $35.6M to improve health IT in rural hospitals

The Federal Communications Commission has cleared $35.6 million for its Rural Health Care Pilot Program to support five telehealth networks serving rural hospitals in nine states. The fund will be divided among the Health Information Exchange of Montana, Palmetto State Providers Network, Iowa Health System, Heartland Unified Broadband Network and Rural Wisconsin Health Cooperative.
