NIH guidelines specify which embryos can be used in research

The NIH on Friday issued draft guidelines on government funding for human embryonic stem cell studies. The guidelines state that funding will be allowed for studies that use embryos left over from in vitro fertilization but not from somatic cell nuclear transfer, parthenogenesis and other sources.
