European airlines plan to resume some flights

The ash from an erupting volcano in Iceland has left thousands of travelers around the world stranded, cost airlines millions of dollars and sparked a dispute about the effects of the ash on airplanes. European airlines are starting to resume flights after test runs Sunday proved successful. Air traffic could start to return to normal if the cloud dissipates, officials from the European Union said.
