Idaho is faced with large-animal vet shortage

The shortage of food-animal veterinarians is evident in Idaho as most area vets opt to specialize in pet care, says the Idaho Veterinarian Medical Association's executive director, adding that it could have implications on food safety. AVMA has launched a debt-relief program to encourage more veterinary students to enter the food-animal-care field.
