Report: Hearst close to iCrossing acquisition

Publisher Hearst is nearing a deal to acquire indie digital-marketing shop iCrossing for about $375 million, according to a report in the Wall Street Journal. If the deal closes, Hearst will be the latest in a line of media outlets including Condé Nast and Meredith Corp. to acquire a digital marketing firm, as publishers look to advertising expertise as a revenue generator.
