Several disputes remain in FAA reauthorization bills

Passing the House version of an FAA reauthorization bill is a "major, major priority" for unions, thanks to provisions that could ease labor votes, reduce overseas maintenance and clamp down on airline alliances. But the Air Transport Association estimates the House measure could cost 15,000 jobs as airlines are forced to reapply for antitrust waivers. Airlines prefer the two-year, $35 billion reauthorization bill produced by the Senate.
