Southwest calls off Canadian codeshare deal

Southwest Airlines announced Friday it was canceling a planned codeshare agreement with WestJet, the No. 2 carrier in Canada. The move came amid rumors that WestJet has been in discussions with Delta Air Lines regarding a possible partnership. A Southwest executive said his airline "would not rule out future codeshare relationships with Canadian carriers or flying north of the border ourselves."
