Should an owner tell employees when he or she is trying to sell a business? There's no clear-cut answer, but often information is limited to the smallest group possible in part to ensure customers, vendors and employees down assume there is something wrong with the business, writes Barbara Taylor. Unfortunately, many employees may be shocked and disappointed if they are left in the dark for too long.
