Why you should urge customers to use their loyalty rewards

Consumers neglect to cash in about a third of the loyalty points they earn worth an average of about $205 a year, according to a recent study. While that may be good for short-term profits for businesses, it's a bad sign for customer engagement and creating long-term relationships, says Kelly Hlavinka. "In short, redemption is good," Hlavinka says.
