$1B would be allocated for maintenance dredging of U.S. ports

In fiscal 2013, U.S. ports could receive $1 billion in funding from the Harbor Maintenance Trust Fund for maintenance dredging, the largest-ever annual appropriation. The funding is in the latest energy and water appropriations legislation, and the transportation-funding extension measure includes a provision that would require all HMT revenue to be dedicated to navigation projects.
