Austrian Airlines will transfer labor contracts

Lufthansa-owned Austrian Airlines will transfer 600 pilots and 1,500 crew to 25% lower-cost labor contracts at regional carrier Tyrolean Airways as part of a plan to cut $289 million in costs. The move follows failed talks with labor unions as the airline hopes to turn itself around following an $81.5 million loss last year.
