Cogito wins contract to develop remote psychological-diagnostic tool

The developer of a psychological-sensing system is incorporating so-called Social Signal Processing technology into a telehealth solution designed to detect mental-health issues in soldiers and returning veterans. Cogito recently received a contract from the University of Southern California's Institute for Creative Technologies to develop the system, which remotely analyzes speech and social behavior for signs of depression, post-traumatic stress disorder and other psychological disorders common to U.S. service members.
